Continuing Education Electives (ECE)

These classes are approved for the 12-hour State of Alaska education requirements for licensing renewal, 2024-2026.

The Buyer Consultation

The Licensee will be able to explain the steps in a real estate transaction before they begin the process.

The Listing Consultation

The Licensee will know how explain the process of preparing the property, market conditions, and share with the seller what to expect during the process.

Module 1 - Contracts & Agreements

The Licensee should have a comprehensive understanding of the customary forms used in a residential real estate transaction. They will know why the forms should always be completely filled out, how to complete contracts, understand the terms of an agreement and the importance of adhering to the terms the parties have agreed to.

Module 2 - Property Management

The Licensee should understand the importance of having the proper documents completed so that all parties - landlord, tenant, and licensee, know what is and isn’t expected. They will understand that property management is different than selling real estate and goes beyond just collecting and disbursing funds.

Module 3 - Licensee Law

The Licensee should understand that there are times to disclose information and then there isn’t. They will understand when certain types of information should be provided and when during the process.

Module 4 - Paperwork & Risk Management

The Licensee should understand that they should use the resources they have to help the consumer evaluate potential concerns. They will have an overview of how to organize a file, track the process and make sure the consumer is informed throughout the process.

Module 5 - Evaluation & Pricing

The Licensee should be able to explain the differences between a CMA, Appraisal and online valuations that are available to Consumers. So, the Consumer understands that a CMA is based on current market information whereas the Appraisal is generated based on historical data.

Module 6 - Financing to Closing

The Licensee should be able to make recommendations to a consumer of things to discuss with the lender about qualifying for a loan and give some basic information about loan types. They should understand and explain the process from obtaining a loan to what to expect at the closing appointment.
